Revamping My Website: A Personal Journey
For the longest time, I've been wrestling with the concept of what an artist website should truly embody. Do I need to add a blog or an online shop, or should I just stick to the cookie-cutter template that seems to dominate the art world – a sterile portfolio of work and a third-person bio that screams "professional"?
Well, screw that.
My old website was exactly like that, and it felt so cold and impersonal. It was like trying to connect with someone through a glass wall.
So, I decided to take a leap of faith and redesign my website. I wanted it to reflect my personality, my artistic process, and my connection to the world around me. I wanted it to feel genuine, inviting, and a little bit weird.
I believe that the magic of art is often found in understanding how something is made. As an artist, I get to see and experience firsthand how my friends work when I visit them at their studios. I always feel so inspired and excited after a visit. I want others to have this feeling too. I absolutely love showing people how I work and what I'm working on at the moment.
Enter the new website.
As you can see, the new website is a far cry from the old one. It's filled with vibrant colors, playful typography, and a touch of whimsy. It's a space where I can share my thoughts, my inspirations, and my latest creations without feeling constrained by rigid conventions.
I offer free studio visits (check it out) but unfortunately not everyone can get to my studio. So, I've also added a blog section where I can delve deeper into my artistic process, share behind-the-scenes glimpses, and connect with other artists and art lovers. And who knows, maybe one day I'll even add an online shop to sell my prints or original works.
But for now, I'm just happy to have a website that feels like me. A website that is a reflection of my soul, my passions, and my ever-evolving artistic journey.
