PULL THEM ALL OUT!
PULL THEM ALL OUT!
This body of work Pull them all out! explores the tension between control and release, embodied in larger-than-life ceramic teeth. These teeth represent my personal struggle with obsessive-compulsive tendencies—specifically, the overwhelming urge to pull out my teeth when something gets stuck between them. The discomfort becomes a fixation, a manifestation of the anxiety that comes with an inability to resolve a physical irritation
The ceramic medium allows me to exaggerate and magnify these emotions, turning an internal, intimate frustration into an external, monumental form. Each tooth is meticulously glazed with a material I create myself, adding another layer of personal connection to the work. The process of crafting these sculptures mirrors the mental fixation I experience, while also providing a form of cathartic release.
